Being The Third Friend
(This is 4 years old btw) Being the third friend. When I say the "third" friend, I neither mean it literally, nor numerically. I mean it with the sense of deprivation associated with being one of those friends who is often let down or walked over. You're everybody's good friend, but no one's best friend. You've been a part of many friend circles, big and small, close-knit or based on formality basis too. You've had people to hang out with, people who keep you company, I guess, what more could you ask for? You've always found yourself to be the one farthest away from all of your friends, as if you can't relate to them. For everyone you've held close, they've held someone else closer and your friendships have been repetitions of the same phenomenon.
